Now is the time to press the gas pedal — not the brake.A lack of economic growth is one of Finland's biggest problems. Growth companies are a significant source of economic growth, but in recent years their access to financing has weakened. The new engines of the economy need more Finnish private capital to fund their growth.

From crisis talk to economic growth and new jobsFinland has long been stuck in acrisis narrative: the economy is faltering, services are being cut, and public safety is deteriorating. When households fill in the gaps themselves, consumption declines and economic downturn deepens. This spiral will not break without economic growth.A small number of growth companies create a large share of new jobs and boost productivity in the economy. When we strengthen their ability to growth, the entire national economy will benefit.

Providing capital so that companies have the courage to accelerateOur aim is to strengthen the potential of Finnish companies to invest, expand and scale up their business when growth requires both capital and the courage to step on the gas.Over the coming years, LocalTapiola Group will invest an additional EUR 200 million in Finnish growth companies with an annual revenue of at least few million euros and an ambitious yet credible goal to scale up their business to the next level. These investments will increase the amount of Finnish equity financing, which is currently insufficient.
